BOO HAIG

- BA Fine Art from Loughborough University
- BTEC Foundation in Art and Design from Northampton University

Boo’s love of painting began at an early age and continued to progress into a passion. The tutoring she received at St Edwards School, Oxford spurred her on to a degree in Fine Art and the rest as they say is history. She has varying styles but all stem from a distinct interest and fondness for nature. Boo uses paint for paints sake and uses it in a way to create expression and depth.

Leaving brushstrokes visible and by often adding texture it increases depth and curiosity to her work. The energy in the pictures is a direct mirror image of the artist; all paintings are created in a flourish of enthusiasm and this is definitely visible in the resulting work.

Although being based in beautiful Northamptonshire she often goes further afield to find inspiration. With a serious obsession with water and light it is not surprising to find that most of her pieces include sea or a dramatic sky line. Her ‘second home’ being St Davids, Pembokeshire in Wales it is clear to see the influence it has on her favourite themed work.
