The Axel Haig Gallery was opened in 1989 by Rod and Annie Haig and has continued as a family run business. Created in a converted grain store at Homestead Farm, Holcot it offers a unique viewing space for exhibiting works of art. Named after Rod’s great grandfather ‘Axel Herman Haig’ – a famous etcher (1835 1921) the gallery specialises in exhibiting watercolours and oils from the late 19th Century together with works produced by local artists. Sculptures and porcelain are also often featured from time to time.
The ethos of the gallery is to show works of great quality, interest and more importantly affordability.
